About Dr. Aaron Peña
With over two decades of dedicated service in education, Dr. Aaron Peña is a seasoned professional committed to fostering student achievement and ensuring the success of schools and communities. Holding a Bachelor's in Education from Baylor University, a Master's from the University of Houston Clear Lake, and a Doctoral degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Aaron previously served as the Assistant Superintendent in Midway ISD.
During his tenure at Midway ISD, Aaron's exceptional leadership led to the implementation of innovative programs across curriculum, district operations, and safety measures. These efforts contributed to the district achieving its highest-ever accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency, with an impressive score of 96 out of 100 in 2022. In Niche.com's 2023 rankings, Midway ISD solidified its position as one of the top 15 school districts in Texas, underscoring its status as a premier educational institution. Additionally, Midway ISD earned 12th place in the 2023 Lone Star Cup, further showcasing Aaron’s commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
Now, as the Superintendent of Burnet CISD, Aaron brings his wealth of experience and visionary leadership to guide the district towards continued excellence. With a focus on fostering a supportive learning environment where every student thrives, Aaron is dedicated to upholding the values of Spirit, Pride, and Honor within the Burnet community. Under his guidance, Burnet CISD is poised to achieve new heights of academic success and community engagement.
Recipient of prestigious awards, including the HEB Excellence in Education Texas Principal of the Year, Aaron is renowned for orchestrating remarkable transformations throughout his career. His visionary leadership is dedicated to setting new standards for educational excellence through innovation and unwavering commitment.
Aaron has been happily married to fellow educator Patricia for over 25 years. Together, they are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters: Isabella, Gabriella, and Mia.
