About Kurt Jones
Kurt Jones is in his 20th year in education and his 15th year with Burnet CISD. In January 2012 Jones was named Athletic Director and Head Football Coach of Burnet CISD. In his 4 years as Athletic Director the Burnet Athletic Program has advanced every team sport to the playoffs experiencing post-season success in Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Softball, and Football. In addition, in 2014-2015 both the Girls Cross Country and the Girls Golf Team advanced to the State Meet/Tournament. Burnet has also seen individual athletes in Tennis, Swimming, Cross Country, and Track & Field advance to the State Meet/Tournament including several medalists under his guidance as athletic director.
Since being named athletic director, Jones has helped to plan and advise the completion of a $1.7 million renovation to Bulldog Field including the addition of a synthetic turf playing surface and the installation of a new 8 lane track. Jones also oversaw the addition of boys and girls soccer to the Burnet Athletic Program during the 2015-2016 school year.
Jones was born and raised in Brownwood, Texas. He is a graduate of Brownwood High School and Abilene Christian University. He and his wife Carrie Beth, who is a kindergarten teacher, are the proud parents of a daughter, Mady, who will be a 7th grader, and a son, Grant, who will be a 5th grader.
