Bertram Elementary Pays Tribute to Veterans

The Veterans and audience members from the community were dazzled with songs, poems, the postings of the flags, and the walk of honor from the students. Numerous Veterans were in the audience and stood proudly to represent their particular branch of service during a performance of the "Armed Forces Salute.” The performance concluded with “God Bless the USA” sang by both students and audience members.
 
In addition, there was a special guest speaker.  Angela Zachos, Bertram Elementary’s 5th grade math teacher spoke to the audience about her experience in the United States Army. Ms. Zachos served in the US Army as a paratrooper and Spanish Linguist from 1998 -2001. She served in the 313th Military Intelligence Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. She held a top-secret security clearance and is a distinguished honor graduate in Electronic Warfare - Voice Interceptor Spanish. Ms. Zachos shared that she was incredibly humbled to speak about her time in the military and share her experiences with the Bertram community.
