What do school boards do?School boards provide local leadership and governance for our school district by:
• Setting goals and priorities that shape the student experience.
• Adopting and reviewing policies that guide district operations.
• Hiring and evaluating the superintendent.
• Approving the budget and setting the tax rate.
• Communicating with the community about important issues and progress.
These responsibilities make a big impact on everything from classroom support and safety to long-term planning and community values.
