With Burnet CISD being under a National Weather Service winter weather advisory, wind chill advisory, and hard freeze warning, all classes in Burnet CISD have been cancelled for Monday, January 15. This includes all before and after school activities. The National Weather Service’s advisory states, “Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Bitterly cold wind chills creating dangerous conditions on exposed skin.” Although this will not be a high precipitation event, with very cold temperatures any amount of ice will be a hazard.
District officials will continue to monitor weather and road conditions through Monday, and any updates regarding a delay or cancellation for Tuesday will be communicated by 5:00 p.m. Monday.
