BHS Students "Crafting" Their Own Future

From Chris Murrell - BHS AP Computer Science Teacher

"The students learn to work through recursive algorithms and how binary trees are used to sort integers, along with how to program in the Java language. With the class being double blocked and a capstone senior level programming class, the students also have a chance to learn real world computing knowledge such as 3D modeling on our 3D printer. The students must make their own models and then troubleshoot the printer for errors when there is a problem with their code or a hardware issue with the actual printer."

"The skills they are learning from these endeavors such as problem solving techniques and critical thinking analysis will serve them far after they have left Burnet High School."
