BCISD Teachers Recognized at Chamber Banquet

Each year Burnet CISD campuses select their Campus Educator of the Year. It is from this esteemed group that the District Educator of the Year is then selected and honored at the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

Hall of Honor Recipients Inducted at Chamber Banquet

The fourth group of honorees were inducted to the BCISD Hall of Honor at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce Banquet this past Saturday night.  Superintendent Keith McBurnett introduced each of the honorees as the BCISD Board of Trustees presented the awards.

Staying Healthy and Having Fun!

Community members of all ages attended the 4th Annual Join the Journey Safe and Drug Free Wellness Fair on Thursday evening. Families visited approximately 35 businesses and organizations which provided health screenings, drug and alcohol education, nutritious samples, and many more activities. A free hot dog meal was provided and door prizes were announced throughout the fair. Four Fitbits and and a Bose Wireless speaker were given away at the end of the fair. Join the Journey thanks the vendors and businesses and community organizations for attending and for donating such generous prizes.

Start with Hello

During the week of February 6 - 10, Burnet Middle School is joining over 2,400 Schools for Sandy Hook Promise’s National ‘Start With Hello’ Call-to-Action Week. 'Start with Hello' is a proven program that promotes social inclusion, stops bullying and teaches violence prevention.

Talented Artists win Big at Competition

Thirty-one Burnet High School art students recently competed in the Region XIII VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event). The artwork is judged against all schools in Region XIII, no matter the size or enrollment. Burnet High School had 28 students whose artwork won at the District level.
Three BHS students won Regionals which qualifies their artwork for State competition. The State qualifiers were in the top 7% of the 1,600 art pieces competing. Congratulations to all of these talented artists and best of luck to the three State qualifiers Rustyn Drake, Martin Palacios, and Rayne Trombley.

Burnet CISD Board of Trustees, our "All-Star Team"

January is School Board Recognition Month and this year's them is "All-Star Team". The BCISD Board of Trustees and their families were treated to a wonderful Mexican Food Buffet before the January 16th Board meeting and the trustees were also presented with a BCISD/Bulldog polo and a personalized Sports Illustrated Magazine Cover.

BCISD Named to AP District Honor Roll

Burnet CISD is one of 433 school districts in the United States and Canada and one of 22 school districts in Texas being honored by the College Board with placement on the 7th Annual AP® District Honor Roll for increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.

2017-2018 School Calendar Status

Typically, Burnet CISD approves and publishes the school calendar for the following year in February. Because the District is seeking flexibility from the State concerning rules that apply to the first day of school, the 2017-2018 school calendar won’t be approved and published until March.
