The Texas Education Agency released the preliminary financial accountability ratings on August 6, and Burnet CISD received a Superior rating.

The TASB Media Honor Roll award is presented each year to an individual who does an outstanding job of sharing the good news about Burnet CISD. Our recipient this year clearly does that.

Bridget Hale was named the PCAT State of Texas Bus Driver of the Year for 2020. We first announced this honor during the State of the Community event back in March. Bridget was formally recognized by the Board of Trustees and PCAT at the July 27 Regular Board Meeting.

The BCISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously during its July 27 Regular Board Meeting to cancel the Bond election scheduled for November 3, 2020.

On Thursday, July 23, Burnet CISD will hosted a live Q & A event on YouTube. Superintendent Keith McBurnett, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Rachel Jones, and Director of Business and Finance Clay Goehring will be answering questions live as they are submitted. In preparation for the upcoming school year, the Board approved at their July 20 Special Meeting the purchase of 1,560 Chromebooks, 52 carts and 300 wireless hotspots, taking advantage of specialized pricing through TEA’s Operation Connectivity program. This purchase is in addition to the 2,000 Chromebooks already purchased and received as part of the District’s 1:1 initiative.
