Gates joined RJ Richey this school year as the Assistant Principal, and prior to joining the District Gates has had a wide variety of experiences that include elementary and middle school teacher, ESL Coordinator, Instructional Coach, and Campus Testing Coordinator.
Since 2015, Sullivan has served as Assistant Principal at Shady Grove Elementary. She began her career as a 3rd and 5th grade teacher, and then moved into an Interventionist and Instructional Coach position before joining BCISD.
“Betty Jo and Bonnie are both proven leaders that care very much about supporting students and staff,” said Superintendent Keith McBurnett. “They both bring expertise from other districts, but understand the unique needs and challenges in Burnet CISD.”
Gates and Sullivan’s first responsibility will be hiring an assistant principal for each of their campuses. They will fully transition into their new role in June.
