BCISD Approves Historic Tax Rate Reduction

During the August 31 Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a 2020-2021 tax rate of $1.146, which is 3.9 cents lower than the 19-20 tax rate. This approval represents the 5th year in a row of the Board voting to lower the tax rate, and it also represents the lowest tax rate in the history of the District. Between 2015 and 2020, the Board of Trustees has lowered the tax rate by 18.4 cents. The $1.146 tax rate also ranks Burnet CISD as having the second-lowest tax rate among area school districts.
