RJ Richey Elementary School New Principal Announcement
Burnet CISD is excited to announce Barbara “Bobbie” Steiner as the new principal for RJ Richey Elementary School. Mrs. Steiner has served as a principal in Leander ISD for the past six years, where she was Texas PTA Elementary Principal of the Year in 2018. Prior to serving as a building principal, she served as an assistant principal for five years and Special Education teacher for eleven years. She is masterful at relationship-building, and is able to create a phenomenal campus culture that includes teachers, students, and families. Even as an experienced principal, Mrs. Steiner models continuous learning by actively seeking out new ways to take back to her staff to support the success of all students. She has a special place in her heart for struggling students and seeks to help them find positive direction and opportunity through education.
Bertram Elementary School New Principal Announcement
Burnet CISD is excited to announce Alicia Harris as the new principal for Bertram Elementary School. Mrs. Harris has thirteen years of experience in elementary education as a teacher, Instructional Coach, summer program coordinator, and Assistant Principal with Leander ISD. She has extensive knowledge in curriculum, and she worked to improve student intervention processes on her current campus. Mrs. Harris is a gifted leader, and partners with teachers to honor their expertise by making them an integral part of campus improvement processes. Mrs. Harris believes that strong, trusting relationships are essential to the long-term effectiveness of the school community.
