Her colleagues chose Valerie because "She puts her whole heart into BMS and her students! She is a true leader on our campus and is always there to lend a helping hand anywhere it is needed! Understanding what it means to grow, Valerie has come to form realistic and caring expectations for students AND their efforts. Valerie does SO much for our kids, campus and district. She chaired our Fun Run Fundraiser committee, sponsors academic UIL, and prioritizes building staff morale and community. Valerie is a wonderful educator who takes her job seriously to help her kids achieve greatness in math. She deserves recognition for the endless work that she puts in to make BMS and BCISD a better place."
