From Coach Lance Jones:
Last night the Bulldogs squared off against Alamo Heights and came out with a 26-12 win.
We got off to a slow start offensively not being able to finish our first two drives. After that the offense found it's rhythm and scored on the next 4 drives racking up almost 300 yards rushing. Our offense was led by Keaton Rodriguez who ran in for a score, Luke Kiser who had some good runs and made great decisions throwing the ball (51 yd passing TD), and Marcus Escamilla who ran very well 2 td's and hauled in the td reception from Kiser. Kiser also connected with Braeden Howell for a 2 pt conversion. Our offensive line played extremely well and had the best overall game they have had all year.
Defensively we played extremely well as a team. We flew around to the ball, made group tackles, and laid some big hits. The defense was led by Braeden Howell, Sean Johnson, Brett Meurer, Jacob Howard, Marcus Escamilla (INT), and Hayden Henry.
Next week we play Liberty Hill. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported these young men. Go Dogs!!
From Coach Lee:
Good morning all! Your Lady Dawg Volleyball Teams took on The Jackets of Llano in an away conference matches last night. Sweep!!!! All three of our teams exterminated The Jackets! The Llano Varsity Team improved quite a bit since our last meeting and had a very hostile crowd backing them. They did not roll over and die quickly. The Lady Dawgs swept them in 3, but the scores were close. Varsity has improved their record to 23-9. Next up, Lampasas here at home. This will be our last home game of the season. Please come out and support these young ladies at home for the last time this year. Thank you for your support.
From Coach Crystal Shipley
Last night, the 7B Lady Dawgs hosted the Lady Badgers. Set one got off to a slow start with many of the girls getting one serve over and then missing the second. We just couldn't get a rhythm going on the serves so we had to hustle to make great passes to get something going. Once momentum got going with 5 aces from Emma Corona, the Lady Dawgs held nothing back! We were able to take over and finish with a 25-20 victory! The girls were able to stay strong in set 2! With 5 ace points from Chloe Box and 6 from Sadie Campbell, there was nothing the Lady Badgers could do to stop the Lady Dawgs! Martine Williams, who doesn't usually serve in games, stepped up at the end to finish the game with 3 aces! I am super proud of these young ladies and the effort they continue to give each week! They all work very hard and never give up!
We will host our final home game of the season against Marble Falls next Monday, October 23rd. I hope everyone can come out and cheer these girls to a big victory over the Lady Mustangs!
District record: 5-3
Overall record: 9-4
