About Rachel Jones
Dr. Rachel Jones has served public, private, and charter Texas school communities since 2000 in a variety of roles. She joined the Burnet CISD team in 2019. As a graduate of Garland ISD, she deeply believes in the mission of public school districts to educate and provide opportunities to all students of a community.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and graduate work at Baylor College of Medicine, Rachel began her education career teaching middle school and high school sciences in 2000. She returned to school and completed a Master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University and a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Arlington in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Rachel has served in a variety of campus- and district-level administrative positions. She is committed to developing teams and building capacity in others through servant leadership.

Rachel lives in Burnet with her family. She has been married to her husband, Brad, since 2000, and they are blessed with two amazing daughters. Brad serves as a band director in BCISD. Their oldest daughter is a Burnet High School graduate currently attending Abilene Christian University, and their youngest daughter attends Burnet High School.
